Random Updates

It seems that my two little guys have been really busy lately. Every day I think "I should sit down and blog", but I guess blogging goes on the to do list after taking care of the boys.

Here are some updates:

* I got a new computer (Jared's old computer, but new to me) and I still haven't figured out how to get all my pictures on this computer. I keep thinking once I get the pictures on this computer I'll blog more, we'll see....

*The boys had the flu. Will got is first and gave it to Luke, not the kind of sharing I've been trying to teach him. I learned that the flu is really yucky for kids. I learned that their fevers can get really high. I learned that TV really is the best option to keep them still. I learned that my husband is way more patient with them when they are sick than I am, I'm very thankful for him! Will learned that some parts of having the flu aren't so bad. One night after he was over the flu he said: "oh no dad my skin is really hot, I think I need to watch TV and eat a popsicle."

* While the boys were sick we watched "CARS" over and over again. I have come to the conclusion that it really is the most in genius movie ever. Every time I watch it I laugh at something different, which is pretty amazing since I've seen it more times than I would like to admit.

* Luke had his 18 month check up this past week. He is 25 lbs. 8 oz and 34 and 1/2 inches long. He's getting bigger every day. Now I can move clothes directly from Will's dresser to Luke's.

* We took the boys to the Rodeo this past weekend. Will is that the perfect age to really get into it. He was hysterical during the chuck wagon races, you would have thought he was driving one of the wagons. Jared and I enjoyed seeing the excitement in their eyes. The new competition "Mutton Bustin" is adorable, I think we're going to have to get Will entered in it next year, he, he, he...

Will's Dinner Prayer

Will prayed for our dinner tonight, his prayer is just too precious not to share:

"Thank you God for this big day,

Thank you for corn,

Thank you for Jesus,

Amen for cars!"

Nesting

If you haven't visited The Nesting Place I suggest you do. But, a word of warning that once you get on her blog it is hard to get off, there are just so many neat ideas. Her blog is fun to read and I just love her decorating philosophy. The first time I visited her site I saw her post about making a Ragamuffin Swag. I just loved them and wanted to make one but I wasn't sure where.

I've made curtains for both the boys rooms in our other house, but of course they don't fit the windows here. So, I decided to make Swags for their rooms. I love the one in Luke's room, I couldn't be happier with how it came out. I think Will's could use a little help, I'm open for suggestions...

Luke's Swag


I bought these little tin stars a few years ago and never found the right place for them in the room, they were perfect for the swag.


I had lots of fabric left over from the quilts that my friend Kristi's mom made for the boys. The swag looks great with the quilt

I'm still very happy with the way it turned out, but I think it is missing something. I wish I had something like the stars I added to Luke's. Maybe I need to add a little more red?

These are some shirts that I made for the boys. I saw some shirts like these last year and thought they were too cute. So, I had to figure out how to make them. The boys wore them to church last week and I thought they looked adorable in them!

Boys Will Be Boys

Lately it seems that Jared and I are watching something the boys are doing and we look at each other and say "they are boys" and that just explains it all. Here's a little of what we have been up to:

Our Luke is showing us more of his personality all the time. He is so sneaky. I was trying to get the boys in the car to go to the zoo and found Luke shoveling Pringles in his mouth. He got the container out of the pantry and dumped it all out on the rug. He was trying to eat as many as he could before he got caught. He even got big brother in on the action.

But, chewing on his foot. He has become fascinated with his feet lately.

Why, we don't know.

Peek -A- Boo

The boys have a blast playing in water. I made a big ice ring (in a bunt pan) with some of their little plastic toys frozen inside. They played for over an hour, melting the ice and trying to "free" their toys from the ice.

We got a new load of sand for the sand box, they were thrilled. All little boys need is a shovel and a place to dig.

Sometimes they are just so darn precious!

Will shut his hand in the car door, it was pretty bad at first. We went in to get an X-ray. Here are the boys waiting on the X-ray results. Can you guess what they were looking at?

Yes, the TV kept everyone calm.

Will is just fine, the swelling went down the next day.

This is the bandage that he got. It made me laugh because I thought it looked bigger than him. It didn't last very long, Will had it off by that afternoon.
