Roseola

Luke woke up from his morning nap with a rash on his face, back and stomach. So, I guess we have answer for his mysterious fevers earlier this week. Roseola is a virus where you run fever, potentially high fever, like Luke did, then after the fever goes away you break out in a rash. The rash doesn't seem to bother him a bit, he's playing just like normal.

Daddy and Will

This is what happens when I send Daddy to wake Will up from his nap...

Poor Luke

Luke was sick on Monday and Tuesday. He was running a high fever. The poor guy had to get blood taken out of both arms and shots in both legs. We tried to get a picture of him covered in band aids, but he was too wiggly, so you can only see the ones on his arms. He's doing much better now. Fever free since yesterday morning and acting great!

Luke trying to walk

Earlier this week we put Luke behind a toy that he can push, he did great. We're so proud of him, he'll be running around before we know it.

Also, check out his big brother in the background, a little jealous.

Will's spikes

Jared took Will for a new hair cut. He is amazed with how you can comb his hair into spikes now. Every time we make spikes now he wants us to take a picture.

Noah's Arc Pool

Check us out on the Swan's blog. We had a great time at Noah's Arc Pool last week. I forgot my camera, but Katie got some good pictures of us. Thanks Katie!

Crib Time

The other day Will didn't nap so he was up playing with me. We heard Luke wake up, so I sent Will in first to say hi. I walked in the door and was shocked, Will was in the crib with Luke. I didn't know Will knew how to climb in the crib. But, I did get some cute pics...

Bistro Chicken Pizza

I've never posted a recipe before, but I can't not share this one. I made a new recipe last night for Jared, a little skeptical if he would like it or not. But, we both loved it! We ate it before an event at church last night and then we both wanted more when we got home from church. I should have snapped a picture last night, but now it's all gone, sorry. I've been thinking about it all day too and wishing I had more...

Disclaimer: I never make a recipe the way that it is written, so this is my adaptation. The recipe called for grilling the pizza and I didn't feel like messing with the grill, so I did it in the oven.

Bistro Chicken Pizza

1 can refrigerated pizza crust
1 tsp. oil

3/4 cup pizza sauce
4 plum tomatoes, sliced
2 cups cooked chicken (I used an Italian Herb Rotisserie chicken)
1 (4 oz.) pkg. Tomato and basil feta cheese (I used regular feta, I already had some)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 Tbsp. thinly sliced fresh basil

Follow directions on pizza dough, brush with olive oil

Top with pizza sauce, tomatoes and chicken. Sprinkle cheeses and basil on top

Bake until cheese is melted

4 and 10 on the 10th

Today is a big day in our house. It is the 10th of July which is our anniversary- We've been married 4 years today. It is amazing how time flies and how much our lives have changed since we have been married. I'm still so thankful to have Jared in my life and I'm blessed that he is my husband and the father of my children!

Luke is also 10 months old today. He is scooting around on all the furniture and anything he can pull up on. He is also trying to talk. I'm pretty sure that he said "Ma ma ma ma" this morning, I don't know if he was really trying to say it to me, but I'm going to let myself think so. His personality is really shining through now.

4th of July Celebration

We went over to my parents house for dinner to celebrate the 4th. Thanks to mom and Barrett for preparing a wonderful meal. We enjoyed seeing everyone!

Family Pic - we always hope to get everyone looking at the camera

Precious Luke!
Luke with my Papa, he thinks he needs to get down on the ground and crawl around. That tongue is starting to come out like that when he is intent on doing something.
Will and Daddy watching fireworks, you can't really see the fireworks. It was Will's first time to watch them outside, at first he was little scared, but got used to them. When we were out driving around the next day he asked me when we'd see the "fires" as he called them.

Happy 4th of July!

This 4th of July was very special at our house, because it is the first time that we have spent the 4th together. At his old job Jared had to work on most holidays. So, it was very nice to have a family day. I think we made the most of it...

We thought this was hilarious! This is Luke eating breakfast. You can't see it so well in the picture, but there is banana all smeared through his hair. This pictures just perfectly captures Luke's personality.
We took the boys to the zoo the morning of the 4th! It was both a good idea and a bad idea. The zoo was free on the 4th- good idea. But, I think everyone else had the same good idea, so needless to say it was very crowded- bad idea. Since we got in free we didn't feel like we had to stay there all day or anything. We saw most of the animals and really did have a great time.

The boys had a great time at the beach at Rockport. Luke loved splashing in the water and Will loved digging.

Daddy built lots of sandcastles...
Every time Jared built one, Will couldn't wait to knock it down.
