Catching Up

Well, I'm officially almost a month behind on blogging. We've been putting all our time and effort in our house, so blogging has taken a back seat. I attempted to catch us up.

More pictures of our remodeling coming soon...

Quotes

I'm trying to remember all the funny things the boys say, so I've been writing down a few quotes over the past few months.

Luke's new favorite phrase is:

"No way dude"
It's pretty cute to hear
Over the Holidays, he had a pretty bad cough and every time he would cough he would look at me and say:
"Oh, my hic-cups"
I'm not sure where he confused his coughs with hic-cups, but it made me laugh every time he said it.
Will is constantly making us laugh:
Around Halloween he wore his Spider Man costume out and totally animated he said:
"I'm Spider Man, but you take it off here and underneath I'm just REGULAR WILL"
At Thanksgiving he sat down to the table and as soon as he saw his plate he said:
"Oh, I don't want this, I'm a Hungry Herbivore."
One day while driving in the car he said:
"Mommy, God says no spankings, I want all the spanking spoons to just go up to God."
We went to Goodwill one day to donate some stuff. I was explaining to Will about how we were giving things away to help other people. I thought we were having a great teaching moment about loving other people. But, what I thought was a great lesson was obviously lost on him because really seriously he said:
"But, Mommy, where's Bad Will?"
This one's our current favorite. Sometimes Jared says the famous line from Star Wars (and repeated in Tommy Boy) to Luke. You know: "L-L-L-Luke I am your Father." I had him promise before we named Luke that he wouldn't quote that every day, but sometimes he just can't resist. So, one day he said it to Luke and without skipping a beat Will said:
"L-L-L-Luke I am your Brother"

The Big 30!

Earlier this month I had the big milestone birthday. I am now officially a 30 year old. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. I don't feel any older. It's just weird to reflect back on how much has changed in a decade. Now looking back I feel like I was just a kid when I turned 20. In my 20's I graduated from college, got a job, got married, bought a house, and had 2 babies. I'm happy with my age, I think because with all those changes 30 seem fitting.

Jared planned a nice dinner for our family and some friends. It was a great way to celebrate entering into a new decade.

Here's Jared and I on my birthday

I'm ready to take on the 30's!

Christmas Day

Here are some highlights from Christmas:

Christmas Eve

Opening a few Gifts Christmas Eve

Our best attempt at a Family Picture

Hot Cocoa on Christmas Morning

Luke at Mimi and Bubba's house

Will was so excited about his new Leap Frog toy

Bubba and Luke bonding over Lighting McQueen

Luke and Raegan at Nana and PawPaw's

Lots of fun with the cousins

My Father-in -Law took this while he was laughing at me because it took me forever to figure out how to "transform" Will's new Transformer. I think you need an engineering degree to play with those toys.
Overall a wonderful Christmas Day!
