It's official our baby is no longer a baby. Today Luke turned 2. We are about to put the crib away and remove all things baby, I might just shed some tears.
And he certainly thinks he's a big boy now. I was reading him an Elmo book that was comparing big and small things and I asked him "Luke, are you big or small?" without any hesitation and very confidently he shouted out "BIG!"

Here are some pictures of Luke's special day today:
He got a dough-nut in bed this morning.
He went to school today and took dough-nut holes to share with his friends. (I think this might be my new favorite picture of Luke, thank you to his teachers!)
After school he and Will played outside. I specifically asked them not to play in the sand box because it got water in when it rained and we hadn't cleaned it out yet. Well, you can't turn your back for 2 seconds around here, I was inside and Will came running in "Mommy, we are making mud sculptures". I could only imagine what that meant. Well, they ended up really enjoying it, they are little boys, they were made for mud, so I just went with it and let them enjoy themselves. So, then they got a sprinkler bath before they could come back inside, which I think they totally loved!
We went to Chick-fil-A for a special Birthday Dinner.(Turns out it was free sandwich night- added plus.)
Birthday Boy and Mommy
Luke's cake, he was so excited when I picked it up off the counter to take it to the table he started dancing around the kitchen. I asked him "whose cake is this" he pointed at himself and said "me".
Mmm... he said "yummy"
Top the night off with a new fishing rod. You can't be a Davis and not have your own fishing rod. Luke was so proud of his new rod.
He can work the reel pretty well. It got stuck at one point and he turned to Jared and said "no working". He was so sad when he had to say ni, night to the fishing rod and let it find it's home in the garage. Overall I think Luke had a wonderful day and felt celebrated. Happy Birthday Big Boy Luke!

What a big boy! I agree- that pic is adorable of him with the crown! Ava is 2 1/2 and I still haven't taken her out of her crib. Maybe I'm in denial that she's growing up? Ya think?;)
Sweet Boy!! Happy Birthday Luke!! I can't believe how big he has gotten! I remember you being pregnant with him, time sure does fly!
Really, can I have a donut delivered to me in bed! What a fun mom!
