Today I went to work...

That's something I haven't said in a few years. And yes, it's true. I am teaching part time for Logos Preparatory Academy . I have missed being in the classroom so much ever since I stopped teaching full time after Will was born. I've been looking and praying for an opportunity to work part time. My heart is to be a mother first and to be my boys most of time. Yet, I miss teaching so much, working with kids is also a passion of mine and I feel a little lost when I don't get to do it in some capacity.

This school is very unique, it is a University Model School. The best way to explain it is that it's a mix of private school and homeschooling. The students receive instruction in their classes and they do the practice at home with their parents. In this approach, the parents are thought of as "co-teachers". It also affords a lot more time for families to be together. Everything is taught from a Biblical Worldview and with Biblical Integration in mind.

The students sign up for individual classes like you would at a university and you take the classes either MWF or T/Th. The Elementary School classes are on T/Th. So, I'm only teaching 2 sections of 3rd Grade Math. I teach 3 hours on Tues. and 3 hours. on Thurs., it's great. The best part is that the days I'm teaching are the same days that my boys go to preschool.

I've heard so many wonderful things about this educational approach. And as our boys are getting closer to school we are evaluating all the different options. I'm thankful for this opportunity, because I will get to see hands on if this approach will be a good fit for my boys. So far I'm very impressed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first day. It was refreshing to be back in a classroom with a group of students.

So, I'm hoping that this new opportunity will provide a nice balance in our lives right now. But, it could be interesting as I'm learning to juggle this job and my 2 little wild men!
